April 1st...was yesterday

April 2, 2008

You know you are getting old when you don't even play ONE April fools joke!!!

So yeah, yesterday was "April Fools Day" and wow, I didn't even play one joke on anybody...I guess I am getting old or something. LOL!

What I did do, however, is begin a "Biggest Looser" competition with my brother in laws. There are 4 of us in total and what we are doing is setting a goal of 10% of our body weight by June 1st (2 months) to loose. We tried a similar deal about 2 years ago and it didn't work because we had nothing on the line so to speak. This time we've amped it up big time and decided to put some personal artifacts on the line if we do NOT make our goal weight. What will happen is if one person looses the weight and 3 of us don't, the one that does gets to keep the other's stuff (sports memorabilia mostly). So, you have some incentive if you don't want to loose a Tom Brady autographed jersey! To contiune it, from June 1st to August 1st, we have decided to all put in $200.00 to a "pot". At the end of that time, if you at least maintain your weight, you keep $100.00 of your money. The person on August 1st who has lost the most weight since June 1st will get $400.00!!! That's some incentive! Also, if you do not maintain your June 1st weight you loose all of your money and the "winner" gets more...again, bigger incentive!

Wish me luck, and if anybody has any suggestions on healthy eating and weight loss tricks, let me know!

That is a great motivation! I hope you reach your goal. I'm not going to say anything about that Jersey though! Before I joined the military I had to lose 50 pounds before they let me in. What I did was start running. I did it about 4 times a week. If your legs and knees can take that give it a try. Go for 30 minutes if you can. If you don't like that tennis, basketball, swimming and hiking are also good ideas.

Hahaha, I must be too old for playing tricks too, lol =) But good luck, loser! Teehee. Sounds like an awesome challenge!!! Well I've taken up eating less processed foods, which has helped a the weight come off, so that means no white bread, especially. And at least 2 pieces of fruit a day. And I found it good to stop eating carbs after lunch, so my dinners would be more protein based. I'm feeling heaps better for it - hope that helps!!! K :)
